Reader question:
I want to be completely prepared when I get into an accident, because I have a Columbia Missouri SR22 policy and don’t want to get it canceled. Can you give me some tips?
Jackie
Thanks for your question, Jackie.
First of all, I want to point out that it is pretty unlikely that you will have your Columbia Missouri SR22 insurance policy right out canceled after one accident. Most companies allow you accident forgiveness, and even then usually the only thing they can do is wait until your policy ends and then decide not to renew it. Still, I’ll give you a hand.
- Always take along with you a throw away camera. This is so you can snap photos of the accident, which may be necessary to prove that you were not at fault later on.
- Bring a notebook, too–you’ll need the name, phone number, and insurance information, driver’s license number, license plate number, and so on of the person you get into the accident with.
- You’re also going to need to write the names and numbers of any witnesses in that notebook so that you can have more help on your and your Columbia Missouri SR22 company’s side.
Cheers,
Fashun Guadarrama.
