License Suspension Lee’s Summit Missouri MO

Reader’s Question:
How long does a suspended license remain on you driving record in Lee’s Summit Missouri? Is there anyway to fix your driving record if there is a suspension on it?
Michelle
Lee’s Summit, MO
In Missouri, suspension for violations such as Pay a Traffic Ticket (termed FACT) or Failure to Appear can only be taken off after five years after the reinstatement date of your license. To take it off from the record, the Department of Motor Vehicle must be contacted with a request for the suspension to be taken off.
When you have been convicted of the violation that resulted in the suspension of your drivers license in Lee’s Summit Missouri, that offense will be listed on your driving history for a certain amount of time. Besides waiting for the amount of time your state has set for the suspension requesting expungement of that violation from your record, it is unlikely that you could get the suspension listing removed from your driving record.

Reader’s Question:
Where can I check in Florissant Missouri if I can purchase a vehicle without drivers license?
Clint
Florissant, MO
To check if you are able to buy a vehicle in Florissant Missouri without having a valid driver’s license you may contact the Missouri Division of Motor Vehicle and Driver Licensing. They should be able to provide you information on if it is possible to purchase, title and register a car without a state driver’s license.
Even if it is possible to purchase a vehicle without a license, it might be not easy finding a car dealer that does not require a driver’s license as part of their procedures for selling a car. In addition, most insurance providers require an individual applying for an insurance policy to have, or in a short time acquire, a driver’s license.

Driving Without Insurance St. Peters Missouri MO

Reader’s Question:
I live in St. Peters, MO but visiting Illinois. I do not have car insurance but I do have a drivers license. Am I allowed to drive someone else’s vehicle who has car insurance?
Richard
St. Peters, MO
You are allowed to drive in other states other than your home state in St. Peters, Missouri usually. There are exceptions such as if you have a junior, restricted license, or some graduating license instead of full, valid license.
Assuming that you have a valid and full license you can drive someone else’s cars but you should carry insurance yourself. States require motorists to be insured, even if the car already has insurance on it by its owner. If you are staying in Illinois for a long period of time you might see about obtaining a license in that state and getting car insurance.
If you are stopped driving a car without you without having insurance you can get cited in most all states including Illinois.
